Everything Bagel Seasoning is a multipurpose seasoning that you can use creatively to pep up your food.
It's also one of my favorite seasoning blends if it's homemade. Here is how I make mine from scratch within minutes!

Ingredient Notes
- Sesame Seeds — You will need both white and black sesame seeds for aesthetics and to match the taste of the store-bought everything bagel seasoning blends.
- Poppy Seeds — Only use black or blue poppy seed varieties. White poppy seeds cannot be used in this recipe as they taste very differently, besides they have a special effect if you know what I mean.
- Garlic Powder — Get one which doesn't cake or else your garlic powder gets hard, which is super annoying.
- Onion Powder
- Salt — I'm usually not a fan of salt in seasoning and spice blends, but everything bagel seasoning requires salt because the seasonings primary use is as a topping.

Serving
The classic use for this seasoning blend is as a topping over your cream cheese topped bagels with smoked salmon.
I love it with my lox spread, spicy cream cheese spread and Liptauer spread.
Other dishes can be enhanced further with this spice mix by adding some of it as a topping with cream cheese appetizers, cream cheese bell pepper dip, parchment baked herb salmon, pan-fried fish, and much more!
Try throwing in a pinch to your favorite sauces, dips, salad dressing and meals. It's a great all-purpose seasoning.
Storing
Homemade Seasonings need to be stores in airtight containers, away from direct sunlight, humidity, and heat.
I like to use see-through spice glass jars so that I know how much is left and so that I do not forget to use the seasoning blend. Glass jars are dishwasher safe.
Or else, spice blends can end up at the bottom of your pantry for months. Does that sound familiar?
Keep the jar on a visible shelf or wall space because homemade seasoning shouldn't be out of sight, out of mind.
Don't forget to label your homemade everything bagel seasoning blend, by adding the date and name.
