🌱 Cauliflower Season
How do you know what is in season?
I watch my local market and if you have ever grown vegetables before, then you have a vague feeling for what is in season.
If I notice a batch of super fresh looking cauliflowers newly arrived at the market, I will approximately know that these might be in season right now.
It depends on if you have seen cauliflowers of that caliber in the market in the previous weeks.
However, with cauliflower, it's not always easily recognizable if it's in season because generally speaking, cauliflower can be available all year round.
Cold Climate: Cauliflower is planted in spring and harvested in summer/autumn
Hot Climate: Cauliflower is planted in autumn and harvested in winter.
When you buy cauliflower, check the freshness of the vegetable.
That way you will know whether you should buy it or not.
The cauliflower florets should be bouncy, bright white without any dark spots and the greens still juicy looking as if the cauliflower were just cut and harvested.
