Rinse guava fruits to get rid of impurities and cut-off ends. Cut the guava into medium or large chunks and collect in a bowl. No need to peel!
3 Pounds Guava
Place the guava chunks into a large pot and pour water over that. Bring to a rolling boil. Cook guava until they are tender, soft.
6.5 Cups Water
With a hand blender, blend guava smooth.
Place the fine mesh sieve over a bowl and pour the blended purée in batches into the strainer.
Press the purée through the strainer with a silicone spatula by moving around. The purée with fall into the bowl and the seeds will remain in the sieve. Discard the seeds and repeat the process with the remaining purée.
Use filtered guava purée or store for later.
Notes
