Cook wheat berries until they are soft, fluffy and cooked through. Stir occasionally.
Discard excess water.
Serve warm as a side dish with main course meals or use further in other meals. i.e salad, soup.
To cook quick and easy wheat berries, I use so called precooked wheat berries that are called Ebly. Ebly cooks through within 10 minutes and it's very popular in Europe as a side dish instead of rice. If you can't get Ebly, try to get soft wheat berries but those will take about 60-90 minutes to cook through. You can keep soft wheat berries to soak too to shorten the cooking time and you can also use a pressure cooker to cook faster. More info in the post above.
