What does Lingonberry taste like?

Lingonberries resemble cranberries a bit in taste, shape and color, but they are much smaller in size. Wild Lingonberries have a peculiar after-taste when cooked. They taste herby.

Lingonberries are mostly enjoyed cooked. Jams, Jellies and Sauces are the preferred way to enjoy them.

They can be eaten raw too, but they don't taste great raw. Lingonberries taste sour and bitter raw, and they are stone hard raw.

That's why they are cooked with sugars which complement the unique flavors of Lingonberries.

Lingonberries grow at higher altitudes at about 3000 feet (1000 m) on small hardy bushes.  They are considered super foods and can be dried, and mixed into water, so to treat urinary infections.
