Hello my friends and readers!
I have got a Creamy Mustard Dressing for you today but before I get to the quick salad dressing recipe I would like to mention some new things and features.
First of all, you might have noticed the new sidebar Ingredient Conversion tool aka Simple Converter (developed by our Charles from Five Euro Food) which will help you to convert the most common Masala Herb Recipe ingredients from grams, milliliter into ounces and cups.
This will be useful since I am used to grams and I did get a load of requests for converting recipe ingredients into cups and ounces.
Unfortunately, I don't own a master converting brain, so this little tool should come handy.
If you have any ingredient requests that are not listed in the tool yet, then just pop over to Charle's awesome page and suggest in a comment the ingredient conversion, oh and feel free to donate a small sum if you like it.
I want to thank Charles for developing this useful free tool, you saved us all from those annoying conversions!
=D
Secondly, I have been working on improving your experience at Masala Herb.
I am aware that some bugs still need my attention, however, each issue will be addressed one step at a time.
Now, of course, I am not a superhuman, I am just a humble food writer, so there is always some kind of things that haven't been brought to my attention.
I want to know how you experience Masala Herb and what you like and dislike.
Tell me what I should change and feel free to share your honest opinion.
I won't take it personally, my aim is to make this corner the best possible experience for you.
So, for this reason, I have created a Survey.

Now to the easy Creamy Mustard Dressing... I like to use this dressing for Pasta Salads or Potato Salads.
Anything made of carbs makes sense and that is why Pasta and potato salads are just irresistible with this Homemade Dressing.
To make the Dressing I use the Wholegrain Mustard which makes it all the more interesting.
Find the homemade Wholegrain mustard recipe here or use the store-bought variation.
Dear Reader, did you try the Recipe?

rich and creamy mustard...yum,will work like magic with potato salads...so soothing 🙂
As a mustard lover, this creamy version sounds fabulous! I want to make potato salad (my all-time favorite, but it's more like Japanese kind, different from American one) with this dressing... looks so yum!
Hi Helene, I always look for new dressings/vinaigrettes and this creamy version is a fabulous one. 🙂 I need to follow your example and improve on the kinks on my site. Archiving on mine is atrocious.
What a wonderful dressing... I can imagine how good it was with potatoes. Well done!
Love this creamy mustard dressing and its perfect for this season too!!The converter seems like a great tool to have especially when we all use different units of measurement 🙂 On to the survey now!
Looks really good and I would love to try this. I have made a mustard mayonnaise dressing but never with cream.
I love mustard...in fact my recent blog post is of fish in fresh mustard sauce. Yellow mustard is much lighter and is a wee bit less bitter, but black mustard work well too. Lovely dressing. Btw Helene, the survey button does not work, it's taking me to pinterest when I click on it. I have shared it.
It's working but the button is small and the pin tab is dominating. if you move a bit down away from the pin button it will work minnie =). Anyway I ll keep it int he sidebar too.
I fixed it completely now. The pin hover isn't appearing anymore on the survey button. sorry for the inconvenience it caused Minnie and thank you so much for letting me know.
Looks like a great measurement converter! And this dressing looks great - I often make a mustard vinaigrette. Need to try your version with cream sometime. Off to take the survey!
What a dreamy salad dressing, Helene! Perfect for pasta salad. And I love the new conversion table...that Charles is so talented!
I think power of mustard is underestimated, Helene. You have given it a bit of glory in this amazing Creamy Mustard Dressing! Thank you:)
Kudos to you for trying to improve the reader's blog experience. As you know, I've been trying to do that for what seems like years, I just never get around to it, lol... Good for YOU! I'm off to take your survey.
Thank you so much for sharing...
Filled out the survey! Good luck in your quest Helene - I hope you get some good responses :).
Thank you so much for the mention about my plugin! I need to update it sometime but I seem to have so much to do these days... sigh 🙁
I love the look of this dressing - wholegrain mustard is actually something I've been meaning to make since forever, so your other post which I'll check out in a minute couldn't have come as a more timely reminder! 🙂
this looks incredible and perfect as a marinade too:)
Would be great to serve with sweet potato fries too 🙂
Simple, yet very tasty and delicious! I am a sucker for anything mustardy.
Cheers,
Rosa
Ooh, this dressing sounds amazing! I love the simplicity of mustard and cream. I bet this would be wonderful over hot new potatoes and green beans!
Helene this dressing sounds delicious. I always order a mustard type dressing for my salads and prefer them on my potato salads. I'll be sure to add this to my list of dressings to try.
Great idea for the converter. It's difficult sometimes to figure out what the measurements would be in U.S. measurements and vice versa I'm sure. This will be a helpful tool. I need to go back and check it out after I finish this post.
Thanks for sharing the recipe. Now to answer your survey!
I like how you've used whole mustard in the creamy dressing, cuts down the heaviness. I could eat a large bowl of that pasta and enjoy it.
The converter is a great idea.
Looks very creamy Helene. Could you please clarify one thing? Did you use the black ones that we get here in India called as Rai in hindi or the yellow ones? I don't get the yellow ones here and not tasted also, so would like to know the difference it will make.
Radhika I used the canned mustard. The link is in the ingredient list "Whole grain mustard". I couldn't really call it a paste since this particular french mustard is not ground but pound (the link will lead you to the homemade easy recipe). Somebody mentioned in the whole grain mustard article that she would buy yellow mustard seeds in Delhi. It will be available in the north mostly, not in the south. I don't get them in goa. =/
