The carrot apple ginger juice is a classic freshly made juice, which can be commonly found in juice bars. The from scratch made juice packs a punch of nutrients and you will be in love with the smooth flavors!
Learn how to make the fresh carrot apple ginger juice further below.
I came across this gorgeous colored carrot apple ginger juice in Goa. It’s a basic freshly prepared juice in the Indian subcontinent, in fact you will find it in most juice bars and beach shaks in Goa.
Especially health conscious places, along the coastline in Bardez district and down South Goa around Palolem and Agonda beach, tend to feature the carrot apple juice in their menu.
This orange shaded juice comes close to the ABC Juice (Apple Beetroot Carrot), however the ginger is the key difference.
Carrot is known to be stuffed with important Beta-Carotene nutrients and this means in simple words that it will benefit greatly your eye sight and your skin in the long run. My mother would say, “Carrots will give you pink cheeks!”
People with a white skin color planning to tan in the sun for a few days tend to enjoy carrot juice frequently because it is believed to help the tanning process of the skin cells.
Certain carrot variations are more suitable then others for making a juice. You will be looking for a juicy carrot root such as the one in the picture below.
These are common in India during this time of the year. The dark orange larger carrots are grown in North India and can be found in most local markets all over the Indian subcontinent.
In Europe, and the rest of the world, you get similar carrot types. Some might be lighter in color but the main trait is the juiciness, so look out for those kinds to make this delicious health elixir!
Apples are known to be men’s special favorite fruit and that too with good reason.
Green, red or yellow, apples in all variations are rich in antioxidants which means it improves the health of your cells and thus prevents cancer mutations to a certain extend.
Apples will give you a feeling of satisfaction, so that you feel full longer. The dietary fibers in an apple help in controlling weight for instance.
Ginger is an aromatic root, common in Asian food. These days you can get ginger easily in supermarkets across the globe and it gained popularity thanks to ginger lemon honey tea, which is a powerful flu killer.
It emits a strong tongue tickling flavors. That is why you use only small quantities or the humble ginger root will turn your tongue kind of numb and it has the habit of over powering other flavors.
The yellow ginger root can tenderize meat and it is used frequently as a tonic. Pregnant women with morning sickness are adviced to drink some kind of beverage with fresh ginger to control the sickness.
Ginger helps your stomach health, so to say to digest properly. It’s antiseptic and antibacterial and stuffed with antioxidants. It will prevent you getting a cold!
So the combination of theses 3 ingredients, carrot apple ginger, make this juice a great refreshment on sunny hot days.
However, if you don’t have the luxury frying in the sun right now, I can assure you that the carrot apple ginger juice will be your friend too on dark and freezing cold winter morning days. The red Indian morning sun will shine for you in this freshly made juice, literally!
But you can try to imagine sitting somewhere near the river Ganga in the Himalayan and taking in the different aromas around you. You are absorbing the fragrant smoke of burning incense sticks (not just one but 10 at a time!) and the aroma of various nose tickling spices.
Some pets are giving you company including some bold monkeys. The air is crystal clear and the sun is warming your soon to be rosy cheeks, and what better way to start the day then with a freshly made Carrot apple ginger juice? Besides the monkey’s have no value for juices so they won’t try to entertain and rob your goodies.
Another heart warming scene could be in the morning at the beach in Goa. The sea breeze clearing your head, your trials and tribulations. The sun rays activating your inner happiness.
You can’t remember what time felt like because it seems as if it stood still, forever and ever. You made friends with lone travelers such as yourself and each has a story to share and to learn from.
You enjoy the moment and you automatically turn into a healthier being with the carrot apple ginger juice helping you to find the flow in your life. But be aware, a cow might visit your spot on the beach and politely ask for the juice.
But it could also be that you get up in the morning, ready to attack a busy working day and the first thing you do is to make this carrot apple ginger juice in less then 10 minutes. Drink and feel energized because you already have done something good today for your body and soul.
By the way, my reality is the latter one, although I am in Goa, I am not on holiday but I do feel inspired by the people visiting the small Indian coastline state every year. A refreshing Juice in the morning, which is a completely normal thing here, is a delight for the taste-buds and gives you energy to master the day in peace.
It’s fairly easy to prepare this carrot apple ginger juice as long as you have a juicer at home. By the way a juicer might seem like another unnecessary and unimportant appliance at home, but I can tell you, I am so happy to have one!
Carrot Apple Ginger Juice how to below:
- 4 Carrot (500 grams or 3 cups and ⅓)
- 3 medium sized Apple
- 1 inch fresh Ginger root
- sugar/honey/stevia optional
- Rinse the carrot, apple and remove all the dirt form the ginger root. Peel the carrot, apple and ginger (you don't have to peel the apple if it wasn't treated with insecticides).
- Cut and discard the end of the carrots, Half, quarter and cut out the apple core.
- Cut the carrot and apple into small chunks. Press through the juicer kitchen appliance and the ginger too.
- You can add sugar to the juice if you wish (or maybe honey/stevia?), I usually don't do that but I add maybe 100 milliliter water to stretch the juice out.
- Best enjoyed cooled.
Have you ever made your own juice at home? If yes what has been your experience?
